About me

My passion for computers started when I was about 8 years old after my dad bought a TK85, a Brazilian ZX81 clone and if you wanted the computer to do anything you had to program it using BASIC. Not claiming to be a programmer back then! I just loved typing in all the code from a games book I had to watch a bunch of squares move on the screen!

Anyway, it wasn't until 2008 when I was 24 that I got my first (current) job in IT. Most of my work at Mangolab is front-end related, usually HTML, CSS, Javascript with the occasional WordPress site. I also have some experience in Delphi and have worked on a few small projects.

Although I spend most of my time with Web stuff what I really enjoy doing is programming and studying about it. I have spent the last 6 years (2011-17) studying for an Open University degree in Computing & IT & Maths and graduated this year. I am also a Microsoft Certified Professional.

Problem Solving

I think of a problem as a challenge that will give me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and test my understanding.

I normally work with PSD designs and will make sure to deliver the equivalent in HTML and CSS.

Persistence

I relish a challenge and will rarely give up on a task. If I hit a barrier I will be determined to see it through.

Work Experience

I am a professional developer with extensive experience building websites with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I am also well versed in desktop object oriented development using C# and Delphi. I enjoy new challenges, study and all that offers me the opportunity to expand my knowledge.

Developer

My core responsibilities are to support and maintain Mangolab's main customerfacing website and internal applications, developed in Delphi, by adding new features to improve efficiency, and general bug fixing. I am also responsible for creating WordPress themes for occasional customers.

Education

Since I left Brazil to work in Italy, before the UK, I didn't complete higher education. Therefore I wanted to gain a recognised degree in the UK.
